ONLINE LIGHTING AUDITOR HELPS SCHOOLS AND BUSINESSES SAVE THOUSANDS

GE Lighting's online lighting audit tool is helping institutions and businesses save significant dollars on energy bills. The GE Lighting Auditor, called GELA, calculates lighting usage, and then reports more energy-efficient options. For a class science project, sixth-graders from Immaculate Heart Academy in Tucson, Ariz., used the energy auditor to study energy usage at their school as well as for the Biosphere 2 Center at Columbia University's Arizona campus. The class recommended a lighting retrofit for Biosphere 2 that is expected to save several hundred thousand dollars in energy costs over the life of newly installed lamps. The ...
